However, for that the owner of Spanish residence permit must remain in the country for at least 6 months). The educational institution must be paid and private, and also certified by the Spanish Ministry of Education. If the student continues to study, he/she can renew his/her residence permit every year. Besides, foreign students in Spain have the right for formal employment (if it takes no more than 20 hours a week).

It can take a lot of time and efforts, but doesn’t involve high costs. To marry the citizen of Spain, you should go the Registry Office at the place of your residence in this country. Then you’ll have collect the necessary documents, translate them into Spanish into Spanish and be interviewed. After marriage, you get the resident card at the local police station (Foreigners Division), and a year later you can apply for a citizenship.
  2. Buying a property in Spain. From 1 January 2014, the foreigners buying the property in Spain (valued at $500000 or more) can also get the residence permit. At first, you’ll be given so-called “residence of investor” for a term of one-two years. But if you want, you can extend it by two years more. This is the best chance for the people who are able and willing to take up permanent residence in Spain. The only disadvantage is that such residence permit doesn’t give you the right to work in Spain.
  3. Starting a company and/or making an investment. This method gives the opportunity to receive the residence permit to the foreign entrepreneurs who are ready to make significant investment in Spain or participate in business projects that are nationally and economically interesting for Spain. Such method of receiving residence permit is very long and tedious, but also has a big plus: the investor doesn’t have to remain in Spain at least 183 day of the year.
