What to do if someone stole your documents in Spain?
What to do if someone stole your documents in Spain?
Unfortunately, the journeys don’t always go quite the way you planned. We can’t eliminate all possible problems, but you should remember that they all can be solved, and we’re ready to help you with that. Let’s see what you have to do in case of loss or theft of documents in Spain.
1) The first thing you need to do is to file a police report (remember or write down that in Spanish it’s called “Denuncia a la Policia por robo de documentación”). Check out the website of Spanish police, where you can get all the necessary information (including the phone number so that you can call and make a report). Depending on the part of Spain, where you are now, you’ll have to contact the police of Spain, Catalonia or Basque Country.
Where is the police? – Dónde está la Policía?
Somebody stole my purse and documents. – Me han robado mi cartera y documentos.
2) After submitting application, you should contact the Ukrainian or Russian Embassy (depending on your nationality) in Spain that must give you a temporary document so that you can return home.
3) The obtained document will allows you to easily pass the passport control and get on the plane. We advise you to buy the direct flight to avoid any possible problems (as there are no visas in the new document). Check out the offers of different low-cost airlines, such as WizzAir.
Enjoy your stay in Spain! We wish you to find a successful solution to all your problems!
